Rudi Riemens studeerde werktuigbouwkunde in Enschede, en is sinds 1994 aan EP&C verbonden als octrooigemachtigde. Daarnaast vervult hij vanuit de partnergroep de rol van adviseur voor het Management Team.

Rudi is een man met net zo veel oog voor detail als voor de grote lijn. “Over een zuiver en helder beschreven octrooi kunnen geen conflicten ontstaan. Als er aan duidelijkheid niets te wensen over is, kan alleen onwetendheid nog voor verwarring zorgen. Daarnaast vereist dit vak een scherp oog voor de essentie oftewel het meest wezenlijke deel van een idee, hoe complex of hoe simpel een idee ook is. Alleen dan kan een idee in zijn volle omvang optimaal worden beschermd. Want jij als gemachtigde moet er met je verhaal mede voor zorgen dat de wereld een zucht van verlichting slaakt dat deze uitvinding eindelijk is gedaan.”

Rudi Riemens studied mechanical engineering in Enschede, the Netherlands, and has been a patent attorney with EP&C since 1994. Rudi is also an advisor to the Management Team.

Rudi’s eye for detail is matched by his understanding of the big picture. “Conflicts cannot arise when a patent is clearly described. If the necessary clarity is there, the only thing that can still cause confusion is ignorance. Moreover, this profession requires a sharp eye for the essence, or the most essential part of an idea, irrespective of how complex or simple that idea might be. Only then can an idea be protected optimally and in its entirety. As a patent attorney you also need to make sure that the world sighs in relief at the sight of this invention.”
