René Allart, M.Sc. Trainee Patent Attorney EP&C - Rijswijk

René Allart studeerde Luchtvaart- en Ruimtevaarttechniek in Delft en is sinds 2008 aan EP&C verbonden als octrooigemachtigde. Daarvoor was hij werkzaam bij een ruimtevaartbedrijf waar hij zich onder meer bezighield met de ontwikkeling van het satellietnavigatiesysteem Galileo, de Europese en commerciële tegenhanger van het Amerikaanse GPS. Sinds 2005 volgt hij in deeltijd een rechtenstudie in Rotterdam. Daarnaast volgt hij de opleiding tot octrooigemachtigde.

René is nieuwsgierig en wordt enthousiast van mensen en hun ideeën. Hij laat zich graag inspireren, maar blijft tegelijkertijd kritisch. “Ik weet dat de persoon die tegenover mij zit het idee wil beschermen tegen inbreuk van derden. Dus kijk je goed naar de technische en juridische mogelijkheden. Maar je verliest ook de commercie niet uit het oog. De cliënt heeft allereerst tijd, moeite en geld in zijn uitvinding gestoken. Daarnaast investeert hij in de bescherming van zijn uitvindingen. Dus moet hij kunnen vertrouwen op eerlijk advies, verdient hij wáár voor zijn geld. Samen met hem halen we alles uit de uitvinding.”

Career:

René Allart studied Aviation and space technology in Delft and has been linked to EP&C as a patent attorney since 2008. Before, he worked for a space company where he was involved in, to name but one example, the development of the Galileo satellite navigation system, the European and commercial counterpart of the American GPS. He has been studying Law part-time since 2005 in Rotterdam.

René is inquisitive and people and their ideas make him enthusiastic. He loves to be inspired but, at the same time, remains critical. “I know that the person sitting across from me wishes to protect the idea against infringement from third parties. Therefore, you carefully examine the technical and legal possibilities. You do not, however, lose sight of commercial aspects. The client has, first and foremost, invested time, effort and money in his or her invention. In addition, the inventor has invested in the protection of his or her inventions. The inventor must, therefore, be able to trust that honest advice is being given: the inventor deserves value for money. Together with the inventor we will get everything we can from the invention.
