Nyske Blokhuis, M.Sc. Dutch and European Patent Attorney EP&C - Breda

Nyske Blokhuis studeerde werktuigbouwkunde in Eindhoven en is sinds 2001 aan EP&C verbonden als octrooigemachtigde. Daarvoor werkte ze als ontwerper van machines en als schadeonderzoeker. Als gastdocent aan de TU in Eindhoven doceert zij over octrooigerelateerde zaken binnen de minor "Ontwerpen", en bij het CEIPI in Straatsburg bereidt ze de kandidaat-octrooigemachtigden voor op hun Europese examens.

Nyske is deskundig, toegankelijk, ondernemend en creatief. “De bescherming van de rechten van cliënten moet zo ruim mogelijk zijn. Daarom ga ik altijd op zoek naar zoveel mogelijk variaties op het nieuwe idee. Want als iets linksom kan, kan het vaak ook rechtsom. En je kunt pas goed met je cliënt meedenken als je zelf net zo enthousiast en gedreven bent.”

Career:

Nyske Blokhuis studied mechanical engineering in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and has been a patent attorney with EP&C since 2001. Previously, she was a machine designer and a failure analysis consultant. Nyske is a guest lecturer on patent related issues at the Eindhoven University of Technology and at CEIPI in Strasbourg she tutors candidate patent attorneys in preparation for their European qualifying exams. 

Nyske is professional, accessible, enterprising and creative. “The protection of clients’ rights must be as broad as possible, which is why I always try to think of as many variations of the new idea as possible. If something can be done in one way, it can often be done in other ways as well. You can only think along with your client properly when your enthusiasm and passion matches theirs.”
