Menno Hollander studeerde industrieel ontwerpen aan de TU in Delft en is sinds 2007 aan EP&C verbonden als octrooigemachtigde. Daarvoor werkte hij als octrooigemachtigde in Groningen.

Menno is toegewijd en analytisch, een echte volhouder die de zaak graag vanuit meerdere invalshoeken belicht. “Aan de ene kant kijk je als octrooigemachtigde naar de essentie van een idee. Wat maakt het uniek? Wat kunnen we beschermen? Aan de andere kant moet je op procesniveau het overzicht behouden om tot een optimaal octrooi te komen. Daarvoor is het zaak uitgebreid vragen te stellen aan de uitvinder. Hij heeft de informatie, jij kent de regels. Samen zoeken we naar het evenwicht.”

Career:

Menno Hollander studied industrial design at the Technical University in Delft, the Netherlands, and has been a EP&C patent attorney since 2007. Previously he worked as a patent attorney in Groningen, the Netherlands.

Menno is devoted, analytical, persistent and likes to approach a case from multiple angles. “On the one hand, a patent attorney looks at the essence of an idea: What makes it unique? How can we protect it? On the other hand, the attorney should maintain an overview at process level in order to draw up the best possible patent. To achieve this, it is best to ask the inventor extensive questions. He has the information; you know the rules. Together we search for the perfect balance.”
