Specialisaties:
Career: Gerben de Bruijn studied jazz drums at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. While pursuing a career as a professional drummer, he studied law at the University of Amsterdam. He went on to become a lawyer, specialised in the field of intellectual property, later working as a trademark attorney at a private practice patent and trade mark office and corporate lawyer at Shell. He also taught courses in IP at the national Chamber of Commerce. He joined EP&C as a trademark attorney/lawyer in 2010. Gerben takes a very positive approach to life, but is not afraid of legal disputes. He wants his clients to feel that he is approachable, which he is, thanks to his sense of humour. He loves hearing inventors talking about their projects with such passion. “That appeals to me on a personal level – as a musician, I know how it feels to create something yourself. But I also know how important it is to protect things. I make my recommendations with the same level of enthusiasm as the client. Sometimes, clients are so deeply involved with their own product or brand that it can be difficult for an outsider to comprehend. I try to get as broad an understanding of the context as possible, so that I can get the best and clearest picture possible of the protection the brand, design or patent requires. The resulting protection is music to my clients ears!” Expertise [ website ] [ e-mail ] [ +31 (0)70 41 45 477 ]
